We have all our dogs neutered before being rehomed.

Are you an experienced Alaskan Malamute owner? Have you room in your home and in your heart for Kato? Kato is 1 year old and seems to like other dogs and is a really funny character. A typical Malamute Kato is loving, but can also be stubborn and boisterous. Kato is a large and loveable puppy!

The following dogs are now available for adoption. Please Note: We do have other dogs for re-homing that are not detailed on these pages.

Pippa

Pippa is a 13 months old Collie / Lurcher cross breed. Pippa can be boisterous and very demanding. Therefore, she is not recommended to go with children. She would need an experienced dog owner as she has had a difficult past and can have dominance issues. Pippa loves to run and play with other dogs, so could be homed with a neutered male. She may chase cats so not advisable to be homed with cats. Pippa is not too bad on the lead, but continued training required on recall.

Jimmy

Jimmy is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Jimmy has a lot of energy and is full of fun. He has a dislike for other animals but loves people. Jimmy is a strong dog and can be boisterous so to be homed with children aged 8+.

Sasha

Sasha is a lively 8 month old Collie Xbreed. She is very energetic so would need a fit and experienced owner. Sasha is in need of discipline and further training. She would suit an household with another dog (male). Children to be aged 12+ due to her boisterousness.

Cassie

Cassie is a lovely 6 year old Chocolate Labrador. She can be nervous of strangers, but is great when she knows you. Cassie loves to run and play with toys. Her weight would need to be watched. She has lived with children in the past, but due to her nervousness must be aged 12+.

Kato

Kato is a 1 year old Alaskan Malamute (k.c. registered). Kato will need to have a confident, strong and very experienced owner. Prerferably with many years experience of Malamutes. Kato can be temperamental with strangers and does like to bark at them. Kato is not good with cats as he likes to chase them. Kato goes for his walk with Sasha (Collie xbreed bitch) and he loves to play with her. As he is a powerful dog he can be boisterous so not to be homed with children. Kato will be a challenge for his new owner.

Max

Max is a lively 7 year old English Springer Spaniel. Max is a really lovely dog with a great temperament. Max loves to run and play with a ball. Max has lived with a cat in the past and is tolerant of other dogs. He is excitable and boisterous so it would be prefered to be homed with children 8+. Max loves people, he would need a moderate amount of exercise.

Important Instructions

Please read the following notes before looking at the dogs:-

  • The Sanctuary cannot rehome to a family where there is a child under 5 or where all the adults are at work all day.
  • If you live in rented accommodation you need your landlord’s written consent to adopt. Please note that Torfaen Council does not permit tenants living in Council flats to adopt.
  • A dog on trial adoption still belongs to the Sanctuary so you must not give the dog to anyone else; if you decide against adoption please return the dog to the Sanctuary.
  • Prices are £110 (including neutering). Due to the current economic climate and lack of funding we have had to revise our adoption prices, we do hope that you understand, thank you.
  • Home visits are required for all adopters. If you have a dog on trial adoption you pay for the dog at the end of the trial period.
  • Rehoming hours are 2pm - 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
