About me

  • Can I live with other cats? Potentially - While we can't confirm if Krusty has ever cohabited with another cat, he shows no signs of being disturbed by any of them in the cattery.
  • Can I live with dogs? No - Since we lack background information on Krusty, it would be ideal for him to live in a home without dogs. He seemed a bit startled by a staff member's Labrador and didn't appreciate seeing him, even from afar.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Yes
  • Do I have any medical issues? Yes - As noted in his profile, Krusty has a condition known as Hyperthyroidism and is currently taking a medication called "Thyronorm" twice a day to manage it. He will need to continue this medication for the rest of his life. He would benefit from taking Yumove capsules to support his mobility. While he is currently receiving them, the sanctuary depends on public donations for these joint supplements, which means consistency may not always be guaranteed. Krusty is also in the early stages of kidney disease. Furthermore, Krusty has been tested for FIV and FELV, with negative results.
  • Can I live as an indoor cat? Yes - Given Krusty's medical needs and current physical condition, we believe he would thrive as an indoor cat, as he might roam outside in search of food. He definitely has a distinct appetite!

Meet Krusty, our gentle old soul who’s desperately searching for a loving home.

Krusty came to us as a stray, and his story is a heart-breaking one. Time and again, we’ve heard tales of neglect from those who witnessed his suffering. Despite neighbours raising concerns and reporting his plight to the authorities, Krusty was left to roam the streets, losing weight and enduring the harshness of life alone.

After a thorough health check at the vet, we discovered that Krusty is battling Hyperthyroidism, a common condition in older cats where the thyroid glands overproduce hormones, leading to an unhealthy metabolism. At over 10 years of age, he fits the profile of those most vulnerable. He was drinking an alarming two bowls of water every night and weighed a mere 2.4kg, barely a shadow of his true self. As of the 2nd July, he now currently weighs 2.7kg.

With the right medication, we’re slowly seeing improvements, his weight is creeping up, and he’s now drinking a normal amount throughout the day 😁

Krusty has a heart full of love and an appetite for food. He dreams of being a spoilt cat, where he can indulge in his favorite meals and find comfort. This sweet boy craves cuddles, enjoys being held, and longs for a forever home to call his own.
