About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Kimchi has the potential to live harmoniously with other dogs. During her time in our care, she has met three dogs of various shapes and sizes and has gotten along well with each of them. While she isn’t particularly fond of having an overly excitable dog in her face, she knows how to assert herself and will appropriately communicate her boundaries before any situation escalates. Her canine encounters include a male Labrador, a female spaniel, and a female Pomeranian named Roo, who is also available for adoption. Although Kimchi previously had issues with two poodles in her home, leading to her surrender, she appears quite comfortable greeting other dogs during walks and can interact one on one if introductions are handled correctly.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? Yes - Kimchi previously lived in a home with children aged 2 to 14 and did not have any issues.
- Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Kimchi has a vet appointment scheduled for Friday, October 31st. She has not been spayed yet, and this will be addressed during her health check, especially since she recently finished a season in September 2025. We will update her profile after this appointment.
- Can I live with cats? No - Kimchi has no experience living with cats and has not been tested around them. For her safety and comfort, it would be best for her to be placed in a cat free home.
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Kimchi is wonderful on the lead and walks alongside you at her own pace. Currently, her confidence is still a bit low due to the recent changes in her life, making her somewhat nervous when being harnessed up and taken out for walks. However, as she builds a bond with her handler, her pace may increase, and she may begin to look forward to her outings.
Meet Kimchi, our charming Pekingese mix!
Unfortunately, she has found her way to rescue due to some disagreements with the other dogs in her previous home.
Kimchi is described by her owner as a very cuddly dog who prefers lounging in laps to going for walks. While she is still a bit nervous in her new environment, our team is actively working to build her confidence. She has already shown her affectionate side! often jumping onto a staff member’s lap to relax and enjoy the view rather than going for a lead walk, even if it’s just a short one.
Given her breed, Kimchi will need regular grooming every few months to prevent matting. She is scheduled for a groom with us on November 2nd.
If you’re seeking a low maintenance cuddle bug for companionship, Kimchi could be the perfect match for you!
