About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Yes - Piglet has interacted with two different dogs during his time with us without any problems. One is a spaniel, and the other is a Labrador. He has become best friends with the Labrador and plays with him twice daily during socialisation sessions! It is important to note that Piglet can be quite full on (playing) with a dog of a similar size to him. Although he can be on occasion, a bit nervous when meeting new dogs initially, he quickly gains confidence and starts playing energetically with them once he's familiar.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes - 18+
- Can I live with young children? No - Piglet can only live with persons aged 18 and older. In his previous home, he was sadly very bitey with the children and felt more at ease around the adult female in the household. For this reason & to be cautious, he would be best suited to a home with adults only.
- Do I have any medical issues? No - Piglet has had a full vet health check whilst in our care with no concerns noted, this includes investigating his leg issues mentioned by the previous owner. See below. He has undergone the following medical procedures: Piglet is fully vaccinated. Next vaccination due: 4th November 2026. He is a little too young to be neutered at the moment, we will be taking vet advice on this. At the start of December 2025, it was noticed by his previous owner that he was lame on his right fore. X-rays were done, and they showed “unremarkable” results. The next step was to refer for a CT scan. The CT scan was done on Christmas Eve & the results showed: "1. Bone arising from the right greater tubercle may represent enthesopathy or be secondary to trauma, this is a mild change and may be incidental." "2. Irregular cranial margin of the left glenoid may indicate a developmental lesion; this may resolve with maturation." "3. Mild bilateral bowing of the radius and ulna is common for the patient breed." "4. Mild bilateral elbow varus and mild right carpal valgus, likely at least partially due to positioning." Copies of all vet notes will be provided to the adopter upon the paperwork being signed. For further information, please contact us via email to speak to our Animal Welfare Team. We have seen no issues with Piglet's legs since he has been in our care.
- Can I live with cats? Potentially - Piglet has never lived with a cat before but he may be young enough to be introduced to them in a new household. Please note - We can only accept applications from a home where the cats have lived with dogs before without issue.
- Am I good on the lead? Potentially - Piglet requires some loose lead training, and we are actively working on this. His regular handlers are teaching him clicker training and encouraging him to “check in” during walks for a treat. At the moment, Piglet tends to pull quite a bit on the lead, but he calms down and begins to focus after a few minutes. This behaviour is typical for a puppy his age!
- What was the reason for my surrender? Piglet, originally named Rocco, came into our care after a difficult situation. Unfortunately, he didn't get along with the children in his previous home, which made it challenging for them to feel safe. The constant biting caused the children to avoid coming downstairs, and there was a neurodivergent child who found it particularly hard to be around Piglet because of his behavior. It was a tough decision for the family to surrender him.
Piglet is a charming Staffy X puppy searching for a loving new home!
Full of energy, spirit, and life, Piglet has so much to offer!
He has been very well cared for, but unfortunately, he’s found himself in our care due to some very sad circumstances. Please refer to the reason for surrender section for more details.
Piglet already knows how to “sit” thanks to training in his previous home and has attended training classes in the past. Continuing this training will only help him thrive!
A true people dog, Piglet adores cuddles and is always eager for affection. He loves to dive into your legs for a cuddle, as if he can’t contain his excitement & doesn’t have a set of brakes!
