About me

  • Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Koby previously lived with four other dogs and might be able to coexist with another dog, depending on multiple meet and greets and a home assessment. We were told by his previous owner that he can be somewhat protective of his food, but it's always best to feed multiple dogs separately regardless, in any multi dog household.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? No - 11+ - Koby may be best suited for a home with adults. While he is fine around children, his past lifestyle suggests he may thrive better in an environment with older children only.
  • Do I have any medical issues? Yes - During Koby's recent visit to the vet, several observations were made: - Tear Duct Issue: Koby's right eye has a tear duct that isn't functioning properly. To manage this, he will likely require lifelong eye drops, specifically Vizulize and Optimmune. Currently, these drops are administered twice a day, spaced 20 minutes apart. Koby is remarkably cooperative during this process, with some tasty treats or cheese to keep him distracted, he handles his eye drops like a champ! - Lump on Back: The vet also identified a small lump on Koby’s back that may need to be removed and tested, as it has been growing slowly. However, they have said it is no immediate cause for concern. Additionally, Koby is scheduled to receive his second vaccination on the 20th May 2026, which will complete his vaccination series. Koby was also castrated before arriving into our care.
  • Can I live with cats? Potentially - Koby previously lived with one cat and might be able to share a home with a cat in the future. However, please note that we can only accept applications from households where the cat has already lived with a dog, simply having dogs visit the home does not qualify.
  • Am I good on the lead? Yes - Koby appears good on the lead & is happy to go wherever his humans are! he is very food motivated & will follow you anywhere for a tasty treat! Koby likes to jump up on you a lot and will often stand up on his back legs like a human to beg for food. He is currently undergoing "loose lead walk" training.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? Koby was surrendered due to circumstances in his previous home. As the fifth dog in that environment, not all the dogs were getting along well.
  • What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? Koby was amazing during his trip to the vet, traveling comfortably in a crate inside the van without any issues.
  • Do I have any fears? Not that we know of!

Koby is a bouncy boy in search of a loving new home!

Koby came into us with the information that he was 11 years old & although Koby does appear (going off looks) to be older, after a vet visit, it turns out that they believe he is only 2-3!

He requires compassionate adopters since we can’t guarantee his house training status, and he has already changed homes three times that we know of. This sweet boy is in urgent need of a stable environment for the rest of his life.

Koby is incredibly friendly and seeks out affection wherever he can find it! He’ll dash over to anyone who offers a cuddle. His recall isn’t perfect, as he tends to follow his interests if they catch his attention, when the outside world is way more interesting than his handler! However, our dog trainer Gary Mathlin is available to help adopters with this! Koby will also do anything for a tasty snack, including walking around on his hind legs begging for one, or, he will dig into your pockets to get to the treats. We have also discovered & been told by his previous owner that he adores “rough play”!

Koby is truly a joy to be around, and we all cherish our cuddle sessions with him!
