About me

  • Can I live with other cats? Potentially - I may be able to live with other cats, as I haven’t reacted negatively to any of the cats I’ve seen in the cattery. However, as I’m older, I may not be comfortable living with a young kitten.
  • Can I live with dogs? Yes - I’ve met three staff dogs, two Labradors and a Spaniel and wasn’t phased by them at all. I also spent time with my neighbour’s dog without any issues and wasn’t bothered by their presence.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Yes
  • Do I have any medical issues? Yes - I’ve had a full health check since coming into rescue. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and initially started on 2.5 mg of medication twice a day. After returning to the vets for a second round of blood tests on the 24th September 2026, my results were good, and my medication was reduced to 2mg twice a day. I’ve received my first vaccination and am due to have my second vaccination around the 22nd October 2026. I have a grade 2 heart murmur, which is not currently causing any issues. We don’t have paperwork from my previous owners confirming whether I’ve been spayed, but the vets believe it’s highly likely that I have already been spayed and have signed this off.
  • Can I live as an indoor cat? Potentially - I was primarily an outdoor cat, and my previous owners said I would sometimes come inside for food before going straight back outside. I have strayed from home a few times, which is how I came into care. A neighbour brought me in after I had been hanging around their home for three days, not realising that my own home was only a few doors away. Due to my condition, they believed I was a stray. Because of my age, my love of food and the medication I need to take regularly, my ideal home would be indoors. We wouldn’t want me to wander too far, as I am becoming increasingly senile and need to remain on constant medication. I could have access to a secure outdoor area if the right home came along.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? Please see the "Indoor Cat" section above.
  • What is the cost of my medication? Pending

Meet Haf, formerly known as “CandyBell”, a truly sweet senior girl looking for a calm retirement home.

Haf loves gentle head scratches, plenty of attention and, most of all, food! Due to her age, she spends much of her time sleeping. We believe Haf may be deaf, as she doesn’t hear us enter her cabin when she is curled up asleep or chilling. To avoid startling her, we gently tap the floor to create vibrations, allowing her to wake/realize we’re there, slowly and safely.

Haf is a lovely girl who is simply looking for a peaceful home where she can settle in comfort.
