About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Possibly, but due to the circumstances of how I came into rescue, my team can’t be completely sure just yet. Over the next week or two, I’ll be spending time with some of their trusted ‘stooge’ dogs so they can get a better understanding of how I interact with other dogs. So far, I’ve been a very good boy and haven’t reacted to any of the other dogs on site! I was also on my best behaviour during a visit to the vets, where I sat calmly in the waiting room surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes. One of them, a little Cavapoo, had quite the meltdown, but I wasn’t bothered in the slightest and simply minded my own business!
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes - My team believe I would be a great fit for a home with dog-experienced teenagers who understand my needs
- Can I live with young children? Potentially - I’ve shown no behaviours to suggest I couldn’t live with younger children. However, due to my circumstances before rescue, my team will need to consider this carefully. Please ask them for more information via email!
- Do I have any medical issues? No - My team don’t have any previous veterinary history for me, but I visited the vets when I first arrived here and was given a clean bill of health! Judging by my teeth and overall condition, the vet thinks I’m around 3 years old. I’ve also been neutered and had my first vaccination, with my second due on the 18th November 2026.
- Can I live with cats? No - As my team don’t know much about my previous life, they’re looking for a cat free home for me. However, I’ve been a good boy so far and have completely ignored the resident farm cats here when out on my walks!
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - I walk nicely on my lead, although I can get a little excited when I first come out of my kennel! After a few minutes, I settle down and enjoy my walk. I like to walk slightly ahead, but I’m always looking back over my shoulder to check you’re still there! I absolutely LOVE sticks and often pick them up along the way, hoping you’ll throw them for me! Apparently, that’s not the best idea when I’m on a lead, unless you fancy ending up on the floor! I haven’t quite figured that bit out yet!
- What was the reason for my surrender? My journey into rescue has been a little unusual. I was signed over to Gwent Police following an incident that my team don’t have much information about. I was taken to an emergency vet in Newport, where the original plan was to put me to sleep. Thankfully, after spending time with me, both the vet and a specialist police dog handler agreed there was no behavioural reason for my life to end. They contacted ACGAS as my last hope.
- What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? I’m amazing when travelling! I happily jump into the crate and settle down calmly for the journey.
- Do I have any fears? Not that my humans have noticed so far! I’m a happy, confident boy who takes most things in his stride! With firework season approaching, they’ll be keeping an eye on how I react and will update this write up soon!
- What are my exercise requirements? I’m a fit and healthy Staffie who absolutely LOVES playing fetch! I could happily play all day if you’d let me! 🎾 I’ll need around 2 hours of exercise each day and would love a home where I can spend plenty of time with my humans. Once I’ve burned off my energy, I’m great at settling down and relaxing. I even lay quietly at the vets while my team had a chat after my appointment!
