About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Cherry may be able to live with other dogs, as she has spent her entire life with a sibling in her previous home. Her compatibility with another dog will depend on several meet and greet sessions at our sanctuary with the chosen applicant.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes - Cherry has come from a home where there were teenagers of the ages 12-15.
- Can I live with young children? Potentially - Cherry is accustomed to being around young children, having interacted with children aged 0-5 in her previous home. She may be suitable for a household with dog savvy children, subject to a meet and greet.
- Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Cherry is currently pending a health check at the vets, this is booked for the 6th May 2026. We will also book in a spay appointment whilst we are there. Her last season was February 2026 & we were told by her previous owner that her seasons are every 6 months on a regular cycle.
- Can I live with cats? No - Cherry has no experience with cats
- Am I good on the lead? No - Cherry tends to pull on the lead quite a lot & can jolt when she sees another dog or something she finds interesting, therefore, she will require some loose lead walk training. The welfare team is actively working on this with her.
- What was the reason for my surrender? Cherry's owner passed away, and she was left in the care of their partner. Unfortunately, the partner decided to rehome her due to limited space and the need to move out of the property.
- What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? Unknown at the moment - under assessment
- Do I have any fears? Potential loud noises, such as doors slamming closed
Cherry is an incredibly sweet and gentle dog, truly a gentle giant at heart.
Right now, she’s sadly struggling to adjust to kennels life after being surrendered by her family, leaving her feeling lost and alone.
Cherry has a fondness for treats and already knows how to “sit.” She adores cuddles and loves to race around our enclosed fields, during her outdoor walks. Although we’re still getting to know her, early observations suggest that this remarkable girl will become a devoted companion. She forms bonds quickly and has a heart of gold, ready to share her life with someone special!
