About me

  • Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Cherry may be able to live with other dogs, as she has spent her entire life with a sibling in her previous home & has met other dogs whilst being in our care. Her compatibility with another dog will depend on several meet and greet sessions at our sanctuary with the chosen applicant.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes - Cherry has come from a home where there were teenagers of the ages 12-15.
  • Can I live with young children? Potentially - Cherry is accustomed to being around young children, having interacted with children aged 0-5 in her previous home. She may be suitable for a household with dog savvy children, subject to a meet and greet.
  • Do I have any medical issues? No - Cherry has undergone a complete medical examination with no issues observed. She has been spayed under our care, is fully vaccinated, and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. Her next booster vaccination is scheduled for the 3rd June 2027.
  • Can I live with cats? No - Cherry has no experience with cats
  • Am I good on the lead? No - When Cherry first arrived, she was quite energetic on the lead and often pulled strongly in whatever direction she wanted to go. Now that she has settled down significantly, she walks nicely and may only stop or pull slightly when she spots another dog in the distance. The team is actively working with her on loose lead walking.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? Cherry's owner passed away, and she was left in the care of their partner. Unfortunately, the partner decided to rehome her due to limited space and the need to move out of the property.
  • What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? Absolutely fine! Cherry travels comfortably in a crate inside the van without any issues.
  • Do I have any fears? Potential loud noises, such as doors slamming closed

Cherry is an exceptionally sweet and gentle dog, embodying the spirit of a gentle giant. When she first arrived, she had a really tough time adjusting to kennel life, often crying and howling throughout the entire day, which was truly heart breaking to witness. Fortunately, with the team’s abundant love and care, she has settled in beautifully and has calmed down significantly.

Cherry has a love for treats and already knows how to “sit.” She enjoys cuddles and loves to dash around our enclosed fields during her outdoor walks, often getting the zoomies! She adores toys and happily selects her favourites from the toy boxes. We believe this gorgeous girl will make a devoted companion and quickly form a strong bond. She is more than ready to share her new life with someone special!
