About me

  • Can I live with other cats? Potentially - At this time, we cannot definitively say whether Ember can be placed in a home with other cats. She is currently in our mother and kitten unit, where she shares the space with another cat and her kittens (in a separate cabin). Ember is highly protective of her own kittens, displaying behaviours such as hissing and growling at the other cat from a distance. This behaviour may be influenced by her parental hormones, as they do not have direct contact and can only smell each other within the unit. Once Ember moves to our cattery at the end of June, we will be able to provide more information regarding her interactions with other cats.
  • Can I live with dogs? No - Since Ember was a stray, we have no information on whether she has had any previous experiences with dogs. We do not believe she would cope well living with one.
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Potentially - 11+ - Ember enjoys attention, but she has her boundaries, so children will need to be sensible and supervised around her.
  • Do I have any medical issues? No - Ember and her kittens have undergone a comprehensive health check at the vet, and no concerns were found. She is currently caring for her kittens, who were born on the 20th April 2026. Since they are still nursing, Ember won’t be available for rehoming until they are fully weaned. However, we are accepting adoption applications during this time. Ember has not yet been spayed or vaccinated, but we plan to consult with the vets in August about spaying her once they deem it appropriate.
  • Can I live as an indoor cat? Potentially - We don't have any information on whether Ember has been an indoor cat in the past, as she was a stray. However, that could be a possibility, though we can’t say for certain.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? Ember was handed in as a stray

Ember is a cute little cat who enjoys rolling over for attention and gentle scratches, but she will let you know when she’s had enough. Right now, she is extremely protective of her kittens and may give a warning scratch or bite if she feels you’re getting too close.

We are currently getting to know her personality better. Ember will move to the cattery once her kittens are fully weaned, at which point we’ll assess her behaviour in that new environment and provide a more detailed update on her profile 🙂
