About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Gaston is accustomed to living independently and remains unfazed by the presence of other dogs during walks. He has been tested with a staff member's spaniel, and no issues were observed. Gaston may be compatible with a dog of similar size and a calm temperament.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? No - Gaston would thrive in a home with older children who can respect his need for personal space due to his medical requirements. A calm and quiet environment, free from a lot of activity, would be ideal for him.
- Do I have any medical issues? Yes - Gaston unfortunately has several medical conditions: He experiences lower back pain, which can lead to discomfort and increased sensitivity in that area when touched. To manage this pain, he is currently prescribed Pardale-V tablets, which he takes three times a day. During the summer months, Gaston is prone to itchy skin and may require his facial folds, ears, and tail pocket to be cleaned with medical wipes. Please consult our staff for more information on this care routine. Additionally, he underwent BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery on May 7, 2025, to improve his airway function. BOAS is a respiratory condition commonly found in dogs with short muzzles and flat faces, resulting from a shortened skull structure that leads to various anatomical issues in the upper airway.
- Can I live with cats? No - Gaston has not previously lived with a cat and tends to exhibit a chasing behaviour towards them while on a leash during walks.
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Gaston does not pull on the lead, a behavior that can be attributed to his breed and calm demeanor. Currently, he experiences some breathing difficulties, which naturally reduces his inclination to run due to concerns for his respiratory health. Now that he is post-surgery, he may have the opportunity to explore further in the future. However, it is essential for foster caregivers and adopters to remain vigilant during walks and to check the outdoor temperature in advance. CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE
Introducing Gaston, our charming French Bulldog in search of his forever home!
Gaston has come to us after his family relocated overseas and was unable to take him along. He is well-acquainted with kennel life, having spent up to four weeks at a time in one during his family’s travels. Fortunately, he has adapted wonderfully in our care and enjoys leisurely walks twice a day. This easy-going boy loves to explore our fields at his own pace and will happily snuggle up next to you for hours of cozy companionship.
His favourite treat? Cheese! Gaston will eagerly approach for just a small piece, but if you don’t have any, don’t be surprised if he gives you an endearing look—his recall is a delightful 50/50!
Currently, Gaston is in foster care following his successful BOAS surgery on May 7th 2025, and he is now in the critical recovery phase.
We are now accepting adoption applications and would love to hear from you!
