About me

  • Can I live with other dogs? Potentially - Ice may be able to live with another dog, as he previously stayed at a local boarding kennel where he had two best friends who were collies!
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Potentially - 11+ - large breed experience
  • Do I have any medical issues? No - Ice received a thorough health check at the vets, and no concerns were noted. He was fantastic during the visit and happily greeted everyone he encountered! He has a warm personality and is well liked by all! Ice is scheduled for his booster vaccination on the 1st November 2026, and he came to us already neutered.
  • Can I live with cats? Potentially - While we can’t confirm at this stage whether Ice can live with a cat, he showed no reaction to any cats during his visit to the vet. We are open to applications from homes with a cat, provided that: 1. The cat has previously lived with a dog without any issues, and 2. The cat has access to the outdoors.
  • Am I good on the lead? Potentially - Ice can be good on the lead, but only after he has had a chance to burn off some energy. Currently, his routine includes 20 minutes of off lead play in our enclosed field, followed by a 15 minute lead walk (twice a day). Once he’s had that 20 minute run, he is much calmer on the lead and walks nicely. However, he can still lunge at times, especially if he spots something like a bird or squirrel, which triggers his prey drive. Fortunately, he is very food oriented and can easily be clicker trained with treats to improve his loose lead walking. The team is actively working on this. Since Ice is quite a large dog, he needs a handler who is steady on their feet and has experience with this breed or large breeds in general.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? Ice's owner went abroad and, due to personal circumstances, was sadly unable to return to the country. As a result, they made the decision to legally sign him over to a local boarding kennel, which then brought him to us.
  • What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? Absolutely fine! (travelling in a secured crate in the back of a van)
  • Do I have any fears? Not that we know of!

Meet Ice, a stunning husky boy with mesmerizing blue eyes that draw you in! He absolutely adores humans and loves his furry friends. During his vet visit, he met a host of dogs and was fantastic with each one, showcasing his friendly nature. The vet confirmed he’s in great shape, and as a sweet gesture, Ice jumped onto her lap and showered her with kisses as a thank you!

Unfortunately, Ice found himself in rescue because his previous owner’s business interests required constant international travel, leaving him spending too much time in boarding kennels.

Ice’s ideal home would be one with experience in caring for Husky or Malamute type dogs. He needs a family that has plenty of energy for daily long walks and can be around for much of the day. Plus, a vacuum cleaner with a powerful motor is a must, as this handsome boy does shed quite a bit!

And here’s some exciting news: he’s also due for a grooming appointment on Thursday, July 16th, so he’ll be looking even more fabulous soon! If you think you can offer him the loving home he deserves, he’d love to meet you!
