About me

  • Can I live with other dogs? Yes - Kylie previously lived with her mother, while the rest of her siblings from the litter have gone to new homes. During her time with us, she has interacted with two staff Labradors (male) and has gotten along exceptionally well with them!
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Potentially - Kylie has experience living with children aged 1 to 13, having had five children in her previous home. Given that Kylie can be quite energetic and tends to jump around a lot, we should be cautious about her interactions with very small children under the age of 7.
  • Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Kylie is scheduled for a health check at the vet, with the date yet to be confirmed. She was vaccinated prior to entering our care. Next vaccination due: 29th January 2026. Currently, Kylie is not spayed and had her last season in September 2025. We will discuss with the vet during her health check to determine the appropriate time for her to be spayed.
  • Can I live with cats? No - Kylie has never lived with a cat and, due to her limited socialisation in the outside world, she hasn't encountered cats during walks. For this reason, it would be best for her to be placed in a home without a cat.
  • Am I good on the lead? Potentially - Kylie’s lead walking is still being evaluated, and we will provide updates as we gather more information. She is a lively and energetic lab who needs to learn not to jump up and to walk on a loose lead. Additionally, Kylie has never worn a harness before. We have fitted her with a T-touch harness, a brand we highly recommend for all dogs. She has no issues with the staff putting it on, although she can be a little shy at first. Given her limited walking experience and the fact that she has mostly been confined to the house with her mother, adopters should approach her training as if she is starting from scratch. Our dog trainer, Gary Mathlin, is available to assist with her training journey.
  • What was the reason for my surrender? In my previous home, there was a child diagnosed with autism who found it difficult to be around me. I enjoyed being close to him, wanting to play and show affection, but I ended up being a bit overwhelming for him. Understanding this, my owner decided it was best for us to be separated. This situation was difficult for both of us, leading to the decision for me to be signed over to ACGAS.

Meet Kylie! Our 15 Month Old Labrador Seeking a New Home!

Kylie joined us after facing some challenges in her previous home, leading her owner to make the tough decision to give her up. For more information, please refer to the “Reason for my surrender” section.

Kylie is a delightful dog with a vibrant and bold personality. She is known to be quite energetic and has even mastered the skill of opening doors!

Despite being nearly 16 months old, Kylie will need to start with basic training. When off lead in our secure paddock, she can be exuberant, often bumping into your legs and jumping up unexpectedly. It’s essential for her new family or individual to have experience with high energy dogs.

We will begin her training from the ground up to support her on this journey, and we believe that once she settles in, she will make a wonderful addition to any home. Kylie is a very affectionate girl with so much love to give. As a Labrador, she has a healthy appetite and enjoys working for treats. She also loves toys and is a fan of playing fetch.

Given her limited socialisation in her previous environment, adopters should be aware of the experiences she may have missed and be prepared to work on those areas.

Kylie hasn’t travelled in a car for quite some time, so she will need training in that regard as well. We are currently addressing this at the rescue. We’re confident that this amazing girl will find her forever home in no time!
