About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Yes - Kylie previously lived with her mother, while the rest of her siblings from the litter have gone to new homes. During her time with us, she has interacted with four Labradors (male & female) and has gotten along exceptionally well with them!
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? Potentially - Kylie has experience living with children aged 1 to 13, having had five children in her previous home. Given that Kylie can be quite energetic and tends to jump around a lot, we should be cautious about her interactions with very small children under the age of 7.
- Do I have any medical issues? No - Kylie has had a full health check since being in our care. She is also spayed & full vaccinated. Next vaccination due: 29th January 2026.
- Can I live with cats? No - Kylie has never lived with a cat and, due to her limited socialisation in the outside world, she hasn't encountered cats during walks. For this reason, it would be best for her to be placed in a home without a cat.
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Kylie is truly amazing on the lead. After a brief burst of bouncy excitement when she first leaves her kennel, she quickly settles down and walks calmly beside you. She frequently checks in with her handler and has mastered loose lead walking in no time!
- What was the reason for my surrender? In Kylie's previous home, there was a child diagnosed with autism who found it difficult to be around her. Understanding this, Kylie's owner decided it was best for both the dog & the child to be separated. This situation was difficult for all involved, leading to the decision for her to be signed over to ACGAS
- What am I like when I travel in a vehicle? Kylie travels well in a crate inside a van & also travels nicely in the back of a standard car when secured with a seatbelt harness.
Meet Kylie! Our young Labrador is seeking a new home!
She joined us after facing some challenges in her previous home, which led her owner to make the tough decision to give her up. Kylie has also been adopted out once before, but sadly, it didn’t work out due to personal circumstances within the home. During her time there, she encountered a variety of farm animals, including sheep and goats, and got along great with them! This experience has given us confidence that Kylie can thrive on a farm like property with sheep or goats present.
Kylie is a delightful dog with a vibrant and bold personality. She is known for her high energy and has even mastered the skill of opening doors! Despite being nearly 17 months old, she will need to start with basic training. When off lead in our secure paddock, she can be exuberant, often bumping into your legs and jumping up unexpectedly. It’s essential for her new family or individual to have experience with high-energy dogs.
We have begun her training from the ground up to support her on this journey, and we believe that once she settles into a home, she will make a wonderful family member. Kylie is a very affectionate girl with so much love to give. As a Labrador, she has a healthy appetite and enjoys working for treats. She also loves toys and is a fan of playing fetch.
Given her limited socialisation in her previous environment, adopters should be aware of the experiences she may have missed and be prepared to work on those areas. Additionally, Kylie hasn’t traveled in a car for quite some time, so she will need training in that regard as well. So far, with the help of cheese, she will jump into the back of a van with a crate, though it does take a few minutes. We are currently addressing this at the rescue.
