About me
- Can I live with other dogs? Yes - Loki is currently in a foster home with four other dogs. He originally arrived with his brother back when he arrived with us the 1st time, in 2022.
- Can I live with teenagers? Yes
- Can I live with young children? Potentially - 12+
- Do I have any medical issues? Potentially - Loki has a Grade 2 luxating patella in both hind legs, with the vets believing he may have already undergone surgery on one of them, although it still isn’t 100% resolved. No action is needed at this time. His teeth and heart are in excellent condition, and he behaves very well during vet visits!
- Can I live with cats? Yes - Loki is currently in a foster home with a cat and has a history of living peacefully with them! Please note: We can only accept applications from households where the cat has previously cohabited with a dog without any issues.
- Am I good on the lead? Yes - Loki appears to have experienced some past trauma related to going through doorways, as staff have noticed his hesitation when passing through doors or gates on the premises. In these situations, he is gently picked up to help him feel safe and secure with his handler while entering or exiting buildings.
Loki is seeking a companion who is home most of the time, as he experiences separation anxiety.
Loki first came to us in 2022 with his brother Ernie after their owner sadly passed away. He quickly found a new home and spent three wonderful years with his new owner, who he adored. Tragically, Loki returned to our sanctuary when this owner also passed away on the 18th August 2025.
Now, at 8 years old, Loki is once again without a permanent home and is feeling quite confused. He has settled into a foster home with one of our caring volunteers, where he is thriving alongside four doggy companions and a feline friend. While he’s safe and happy in foster care, this situation isn’t a long-term solution.
Having entered rescue at the age of 5, it’s crucial for Loki to find a stable, loving home as soon as possible. He is a lovable boy with so much affection to give. Easy-going and adaptable, he enjoys being carried or walking alongside you. His favourite pastimes include snuggling up in comfy dog beds, curling up with squishy pillows on the sofa, and finding a warm lap to call his own.
Loki’s fosterer is currently working on his toilet training, as he hasn’t been fully house trained since arriving in 2022. Potential adopters should be aware of this, but with time and the right training plan, he can overcome this challenge. Our dog trainer, Gary Mathlin is ready to assist in creating a tailored plan and will work closely with you to meet all of Loki’s needs. It’s time for this sweet boy to find his forever home where he can feel secure and loved once again.
