About me
- Can I live with young children? No - We would not place Ranger in a home with children since he has not been exposed to them & tends to be very anxious.
- Do I have any medical issues? Yes - Ranger has undergone a thorough health check at the vet. He is currently being treated for ringworm after arriving with a small wound on his side that worsened and expanded. We are currently taking in adoption applications for him but he will not be rehomed until the ringworm has been fully cleared by the vets. He receives a medicated shampoo (F10 treatment shampoo) three times a week, with the treatment ending on May 17th, after which he will return for another check up. Ranger has also been neutered since arriving in our care. Aside from the ringworm and a minor misalignment in his jaw, which isn’t causing him any issues, the vets have expressed no other concerns about his health.
- What was the reason for my surrender? Ranger's owner was unable to provide him and the other male guinea pig in the household with the time & care they needed.
Ranger arrived alongside another male guinea pig, Ronin. Prior to their arrival, they were housed together but had been fighting quite badly, leading their owner to separate them. Unfortunately, Ronin passed away shortly after coming into us due to underlying kidney failure.
Currently, Ranger is extremely nervous and skittish. He is not fond of being handled and often hides when we approach his enclosure. Our team is dedicated to working on his socialisation and helping him adjust to his new environment 🙂
